By plotting calibration standard’s retention times in the function of the predetermined and fixed CHI (IAM) values, the resulting linear curve can be used to convert compound retention times to CHI (IAM) values that are obtained under the same conditions on the same instrument. Calibration should be done before the measurements of each set of compounds to ensure that the obtained CHI (IAM) values are suitable for interlaboratory comparison.
