Acute exposure to chemical warfare nerve agents results in the irreversible inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) at the neuronal synapse with the only true antidote being a reactivator drug that restores enzymatic activity. A method for the analytical scale chiral separation of the novel reactivator drug 80A was developed using the RegisPack™ column. This new methodology has been successfully scaled up, allowing the isolation of pure enantiomers for subsequent in vitro and in vivo evaluation. Download |
