Immobilized Artificial Membrane (IAM) technology is an innovative approach to determining drug membrane permeability using a chromatographic column surface that emulates the lipid environment of the cell membrane. As phospholipids are major components of tissues and cells, drug interaction with phospholipids is an important contributor to distribution. IAM PC.DD2 columns can be used to quickly measure drug/phospholipid interactions via retention times. A calibration mixture and instructions on how to obtain and use the critical information generated by IAM chromatographic runs are also available.
