This October, Regis Custom Pharma will host two seminars on “Solid Form Selection in the Pharmaceutical Industry: Salt Selection and Polymorphism.” Guest speaker Gregory A. Stephenson, Ph.D. will deliver the technical talks, which are open to the public, in San Diego (10/15) and San Mateo (10/17).
Registration is required as seating is limited. Arrive at 4:30 pm for our happy hour event; the seminars will each begin at 5:00 pm and will last one hour with time for questions and networking after the talk. Those interested should register here.
Stephenson will present why it is critical to understand solid form selection in early drug development programs. He will discuss the process including screening, characterization, and selection relevant to the approval of new drug substances. Examples and techniques that help guide the decision-making process will be provided.
Dr. Stephenson specializes in dissolution, physical form, and manufacturing problems. He earned his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University and then spent 30 years at Eli Lilly. He has authored approximately 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and multiple book chapters, is named as co-inventor on 14 patents, and has been honored with Eli Lilly’s Presidential Award four times.
