Regis Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated and highly-organized Inside Sales Representative for our chromatography consumables business. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for selling chromatography columns and reagents to a broad range of industries to achieve sales growth objectives in the US geographic territory. Key objectives include meeting sales revenue targets through lead development, prospecting, and account planning activities, working as a team with a field sales partner to develop and execute sales plans, and sharing market information and customer feedback with the Chromatography team. This role also provides back-up to the customer service function.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline combined with experience in HPLC and/or SFC and a strong desire to move out of the lab and into a sales role. Prior sales experience is not necessary but is a plus. This person should have strong verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting field sales partner to manage and grow sales revenue in defined territory by prospecting, developing leads, setting appointments, and executing post-sales activities
- Data-mining new leads, qualifying, and developing new opportunities using various tools (LinkedIn, Internet, AI tools, and internal databases) – making outbound calls via telephone and e-mail
- Developing strong, consultative relationships with customers within the assigned territory and providing product information and recommendations to end users
- Following up on leads generated by marketing activities
- Generating quotations for Regis products as needed
- Creating and executing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans to grow sales in assigned territory
- Creating and sharing sales reports routinely with field sales partner to track progress
- Reporting market trends, customer feedback, competitive information, and customer insights
- Providing back-up to the customer service function
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, and ability to learn and use the company Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool (Salesforce), the company’s ERP system (Syspro), and outbound marketing platforms, including LinkedIn and social media
- Ability to identify with and recognize customer requirements, providing appropriate recommendations and solutions with a high sense of urgency
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in science is preferred, with a focus in any of the following disciplines: chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or life sciences
- One year of sales experience preferred but not required, ideally selling chromatography consumable products and/or scientific instrumentation into pharmaceutical, biotech, or academic markets
- Strong verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the US chromatography market and target industries (Pharma, Biotech, and others). Familiarity with consumables’ sales tactics is a plus
- Proven ability to learn new technologies/products quickly
- Ability to identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate Regis solutions
- Ability to work independently and be results-oriented, determined, and a self-starter
